Maxwell House Doberman Pinscher Rescue Dog.

Maxwell, my rescue Doberman behaving himself. 1 year and 3 months of work to get him to be good with the others for extended periods of time. This short video is of him with my 6 yr old rescue Rottie, and 17 wk old German Shepherd puppy, being calm and playful without hurting anyone. He primarily stays in our large kitchen because he would beat up on the others not realizing he is a maniac! He had the run of the house for 10 hours straight this day, even taking a two hour nap. Originally surrendered to NYC Manhattan Shelter for being too hyper and anxious, in June of 2007, he was sent to Toby’s Place Doberman Rescue, where Betsy rehabbed and placed him with me. After all of Betsy’s work, Max was still extremely anxious/hyper, and wild. He had a lot of tummy troubles and after 4 weeks of feeding him plain yogurt, digestive enzymes, and Rescue Remedy, he was doing great healthwise, but mentally had a lot of issues. After 2 weeks, I noticed Max biting at his stubby tail a lot. I looked at it closely and found two surgical stables embedded in his tail. Poor Guy! Took him to the vet and they removed them.. and my vet said it must of been the breeder that had that done and the next owner didn’t remove them. His ears are cropped very small, and you can tell by the stitching his ears were irritated however they cropped them. I worked with him with obedience, he began to listen to me. I also watched and applied a lot of Dog Whisperer!! love Cesar Milan! He’s great with my kids …

My house just recently got broken into when I was home. Everythings fine but I would like to ask a couple of questions. I have a lab/german shepard but he is 11 years old and isn’t much of a good dog to have for home security. I was wondering what the best dog breed was for an attack or guard dog. I want the dog to alert me if someone is trying to break in and protect the house to. I just would like to know if any of you had some good dogs in mind for this. I need answers as quickly as possible and very detailed. Thank you.

Looking for a DOG. Which breed is the BEST for my family?

Hello,
I do have some experiences with smaller dogs (poodeles, shit-zus, malteese, and chwawa) before but my family and I are looking to get a larger dog for outside. My kids (10 and 7) are very excited about this as well as I am but cannot decide on the breed. In your experience, what will be the best breed for our family? We do not have any allergies and we have decent size back yard.
All your comments are welcome!
